We are an independent charity based in Derby
Hope City Furniture provides good quality furniture and household items free of charge to those who have been rehoused due to crisis. Our desire in providing this service is to demonstrate God's love in a practical way through generosity and by treating all people with dignity and respect. We also aim to reduce social exclusion by developing community, to promote the recycling and re-use of furniture, and are currently working towards facilitating voluntary work opportunities and training in furniture restoration.
Hope City Furniture promotes and encourages the reuse of furniture and other household goods in order to reduce unnecessary landfill or unsightly fly tipping. Good quality furniture and other items which add to the problem of waste will be upcycled and reused in order to help someone else furnish their home.
We welcome furniture and household donations, including white goods and appliances if they are in good working order, and run a free collection service for this purpose. All items donated will be used to furnish homes for those in need.
The Little Shop of Hope
We also buy and sell mid century vintage teak, antiques, and collectables to generate income in order to make the charity as self-sustainable as possible. Come and visit our store at the Derwentside Shopping Mill in Belper.
We are open now!
