We need your donations!
The safety of our clients and team is of paramount importance to us. In line with government guidelines, we have put the following new safety measures in place:
Depending on your preference, we will either collect from your room of choice, your doorstep or an alternative safe access point.
We are unable to collect from a household where a member is suffering from Covid-19 symptoms, is self-isolating or has tested positive within the last 14 days. Our team will check for this when your collection is booked in.
Please follow the general guidelines below to check whether your item fits into the necessary criteria.
Fabrics and fillers
Anything with fabric or fillers including mattresses, chairs with padded seats, and bed heads etc., MUST HAVE A FIRE LABEL.
This is a legal requirement, we cannot pass on any item that does not have a fire label. The only exception to this is if an item is classed as an antique.
Please note that we DO NOT collect sofas.
Condition of goods
All donated furniture must be in good, clean, reusable condition (unless previously agreed that we are going to upcycle or restore it) - no rips, tears, marks or stains, for wooden items no dents or visible marks, no excessive wear, pet damage, extreme fading or exposed foam. Mattresses must be clean and without stains or marks.
Photographs are always helpful prior to collection if possible.
Items not fit for reuse or that do not meet the standards outlined above will be declined by our drivers at the point of collection.
White goods and electrical appliances
We will receive white goods (fridges, freezers, washing machines, etc.) and small electrical appliances as long as they are in good working order. All such items will be PAT tested before being given away.
Please note that we are unable to accept electric or gas cookers.
Please do not use us as a rubbish disposal service. If we cannot use it, then it costs us to dispose of it.
Where are they going?
All donations are either gifted to people in need as and when the help is requested or sold (with the donor’s permission) to generate income in order to cover the running costs of the charity.
We really appreciate, and are so grateful, for donations of good quality, reusable, clean furniture. We are a not-for-profit charity and donations are a vital part of enabling us to help others in need.
